The woman snickered. - What should be there?

“Our warehouse, of course,” Styk spread his hands.

Caroline grunted again and took up the pen and paper and began to figure out what and how.

Stick smiled and leaving her immersed in his thoughts went to the Leaky anchor.

- What do you want? - grunted the barmaid as soon as he stepped on the threshold.

“I need a gremlin, and I'm glad to see you, too,” Stick said smiling as brightly as possible.

The half-elf raised an eyebrow and looked him up and down.

- Did you hit your head? - finally she issued.

“And not just a gremlin, but a gremlin master,” the man replied leaning on the bar.

The woman rubbed her glass focused and looked at the light. Stick dutifully waited for an answer. Amaco was standing like a statue, but keenly catching any vibration.

“Good,” the barmaid finally said. - It seems there is someone who agrees to work with you. He will come when it gets dark.

“This is wonderful,” Stick gushing at the dark elf once again gave her a smile. - You have a talent. - he winked at her.

The woman grunted smiling lips corners.

Creativity and non-standard approach.

When Stick returned, Caroline found all in ink and paint, but pleased with himself.

On the canvas there was a sign “Mr Store’s Warehouse” sign that the trade language concisely placed this inscription from which every word was large and visible from far away. Openwork frame sparkled gold attracting the eye. Light letters on a dark background made the inscription contrast.

Lying around were sheets of paper, crumpled and not with drawings and inscriptions, or all of them crossed. It seems Caroline went through more than a dozen options before making this rather strict signboard.

When a woman noticed a skeptical look, Stick was ready to incinerate him with a look.

The man came closer and literally said, “Well, what are you doing here?” Looked at the canvas from different sides and then took a couple of other sketches and looked and threw it back onto the floor.

- Yes, you're kidding! Bastard! - Caroline could not stand it. She was ready to scratch that haughty face.

“You are gorgeous,” Stick said, suddenly grabbing a woman and snapping at her lips without giving an answer.

Caroline began to violently slap his palms.

- I'll kill you! - she fell out when Stick broke the kiss. - I'll kill you for sure!

“You did a great job,” Stick said, wiping the ink off her face. - Men who do not appreciate you complete idiots.

Caroline exhaled loudly and smiled, arms folded under her breasts.

“You didn’t say how and where you will be placing it,” she said.

- Hmm ... really, - Stick rubbed his chin because of what was left there ink trail. Caroline giggled. - We will place it in the sky, so she has to be very big.

“IN THE SKY ...” Caroline's jaw dropped and even the imperturbable Amaco looked at the gentleman with surprise.

“Yes,” Stick said. - I want our warehouse to be visible from afar.

New neighbors.

Stick made sketches when they knocked on the window.

“You called a man,” the darkness rasped when the man opened the shutters.

- Yes come in, - he waved his hand. - I need the opinion of a local specialist.

A black leather raincoat with a hood swung over the window sill with its bare feet on a wood floor.

Gremlin walked over and looked at the sketches. An indiscriminate set of clicks came from under the hood. Guest flinched all over.

“Man,” he hissed rather. - Let's do it!

“Glad you're interested,” Stick smiled and they plunged into discussing the details.

“This world will definitely not be the same,” Wendy giggled, watching all this.

To begin with, the distiller was assembled. For work, the warehouse had to be fenced off, but as long as it was still empty, there was no problem. A horn was built at the rear near the wall itself and the chimney was led outside. We put several tables with a vice and a tool. To the surprise of the Stick, gremlins were brought from somewhere by a hydraulic press.

“I never thought such a thing existed,” Stick marveled.

The gremlins squawked loudly, apparently their laughter sounded like that. Their little bodies shook.

Gremlins got down to work, with which one can only envy. Interrupting only for sleeping and spreading sleeping bags right in the workshop, all the rest of the time they devoted to work and ate just right there.

Many, of people consider everything, perceive the gremlins primitive (the goods they receive from elves) as animals that have no culture or language.

Now Stick heard the real speech of the gremlines. Discussing the process, they actively gesticulated, whistled and clicked it was especially funny to hear “farting” when gremlin spat out his tongue from his mouth while sprinkling saliva.

Caroline first feared new neighbors, but making sure that they absolutely did not pay attention to her emboldened and began to show interest.

After receiving distilled water, everyone began to collect a voltaic pole, as well as make copper wire for wires and electrodes.

Having melted glass in the furnace, the gremlins blew out three connecting vessels. A distiller was attached to the central one, and the electrodes were lowered to the outermost ones and tests started strengthening the torches on top.

When a gas torch fire broke out over the installation, the goblins screamed and jumped.

“Wonderful,” Stick said. - Now it's up to the ball.

Words in the sky.

Ball made of spider silk. This material was harvested by dismantling the dwelling of large spiders living on the southern islands. The work is dangerous, if a plunge spider easily kills even an adult, so the price was appropriate. Not everyone could afford it. But strength and lightness were indispensable where there was a large load on the gap.

For sealing, a local rubber elastic resin was used to avoid hydrogen leakage.

Bottom to the ball was attached drum of rack frames, which are stretched silk. He spun blown by the wind.

There was an inscription on silk “The warehouse of Mr. Stick” made with phosphorescent paints, so that even in the dark the white inscription was clearly visible.

Having experimented on a small model, the gremlins made a full-size specimen.

All this time in the workshop reigned excitement. In everyday life, gremlins are very restrained, but now they were very violently expressing emotions, so the warehouse has become a very noisy place attracting the attention of neighbors and if not for the terrible authority of the Stick multiplied by Caroline's charm they would probably have closed.

Caroline fluttered around the city giving smiles, discussing affairs and gossip, mentioning a new warehouse between times. Soon her charisma and universal acceptance began to open the doors of even respected houses to her. The elegant little thing from the north fascinated many. And the most perspicacious simply understood that it was better to be friends with the Midnight Lords.

Stick launched the ball early in the morning when only the first rays of the sun pierced the sky.

The awakening city saw a gilded ball in the sky and the big words "Mr. Stick's Warehouse"

Caroline is a complete idiot. Also not logical, at first such
“Go to another man. I don’t see extraneous candidates, but I’m lying in front of the same mattress for nothing to waste. ”
And then immediately forgot it and lay down under the first counter
